[Take Action] Getting Clarity on your 2020 Goals

business career cv Dec 16, 2019

If you tuned in to last week’s blog (if not, click here to check it out), you’ll have been reviewing some specific areas that will help you to use what happened during the last year to make next year even better.

My Monday Munch readers this week are building their goal lists around some specific areas that will ensure that their personal and professional goals are aligned.

It’s all about having work you love that supports a lifestyle you’ve chosen.

So, if you’re not already receiving it, sign up free to The Monday Munch to get your top career tips each week, and if you didn’t get it this week, write a list of what you want to achieve in all the different areas of your life.

Lists are great, but they can be a bit overwhelming.

So, if you got a nice long list of goals, what do you do with it? It’s useful to look at it in a number of different ways:

  • Categorise each goal: is it career, family, health, finance, etc
  • What’s the timeframe for each one: is it short term (0-6months), medium term (6 months to 2 years), long term (more than 2 years).

Use your list to maximise the benefits

Once you’ve done that, take a look at the different categories you’ve got for your goals and decide which is the biggest priority in each area of your life.

Now look at those top goals for each area and decide which one, when you achieve it, will make the biggest difference to your life. That’s the one I want you to bring into next week’s Monday Munch and blog.

And finally

Just check through your list of goals. Which of them are easy to do, quick win things that you could put an hour aside between now and the end of the month and just get done?

Imagine how good you’ll feel then!
